Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with LabelLight in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the essential setup steps to print your first label.
This guide takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
Prerequisites Checklist
Before starting, make sure you have:
- ✅ Google Chrome installed
- ✅ DYMO Connect software installed and running
- ✅ DYMO printer connected and powered on
- ✅ Active LabelLight subscription
- ✅ A DYMO label template file (.label or .dymo)
If you don't have DYMO Connect installed, see the Installation Guide first.
Step 1: Open LabelLight Settings

Find the Extension Icon
Look for the LabelLight icon in your Chrome toolbar. If you don't see it, click the puzzle piece icon and pin LabelLight.

Click to Open
Click the LabelLight icon. The settings page will open in a new tab.

Step 2: Sign In

Click "Sign in with Google"
On the settings page, click the Google sign-in button.

Authenticate
Select your Google account and authorize LabelLight.

Verify Sign-In
You should see your profile picture and email appear in the authentication section.

Step 3: Select Your Printer

Find Printer Settings
Scroll to the "General Settings" section.

Select Printer
Click the "Default Printer" dropdown and select your DYMO printer.

Save Settings
Click "Save Settings" to confirm your printer selection.
If no printers appear, ensure DYMO Connect is running. Click the refresh button next to the dropdown. If it still doesn't show, try enabling "Bypass Printer Detection".

Step 4: Upload a Label Template

Find Label Templates Section
Scroll down to the "Label Templates" section.

Upload Your Template
Click the upload area and select your .label or .dymo template file, or drag and drop the file onto the upload area.

Set as Default
After upload, click "Set as Default" next to your template.
Create one using DYMO Label Software, which comes with DYMO Connect. Include text objects for product name, price, and a barcode object for SKU. See Label Templates for detailed instructions.

Step 5: Configure Field Mappings

Find Field Mappings Section
After setting a default template, the "Field Mappings" section becomes available.

Map Your Fields
For each field in your template (e.g., "ProductName", "Price", "Barcode"), select the corresponding Lightspeed data:
- ProductName →
name - Price →
price_including_tax - Barcode →
sku
- ProductName →

Save Mappings
Click "Save Mappings" to save your configuration.

Step 6: Print Your First Label!

Open Lightspeed Retail
Navigate to your Lightspeed Retail backoffice in Chrome.

Go to a Product or Consignment
Open any product edit page or consignment page.

Click Print Labels
Click the "Print Labels" button. The LabelLight modal will open.

Set Quantity
Enter "1" in the quantity field for any product.

Print!
Click "Print Labels" to send the label to your DYMO printer.
