Changelog

What's new in the LabelLight browser extension, newest first. Chrome updates the extension automatically, so you are normally on the most recent version already — you can check which one in chrome://extensions.

Version 1.6

1.6.0

Latest
  • NewYou can print labels for one delivery. Open an order on the purchase order list, open the delivery you have just received, and Print labels now opens LabelLight with only the items that arrived in that delivery — rather than sending you to Lightspeed's own barcode page. Ordering the same product across two deliveries prints each one separately.
  • FixedPrint labels works again on purchase orders. Lightspeed changed the Actions menu on that screen, and LabelLight stopped recognising the Print labels item on it, so choosing it opened Lightspeed's own print dialog instead of yours. Both the old and the new menu are recognised now, so it works whichever one your store has.

Version 1.5

1.5.2

  • FixedSpanish and French were missing some wording, which showed as blank space instead of text — the progress messages while labels are being prepared in French, and the password rules and account confirmation messages in both. They now read in the language you have chosen.
  • FixedThe print window no longer shows an empty line where it should say it is starting up, and the Export CSV button is announced properly by screen readers.

1.5.0

  • NewRemoving LabelLight now opens a short page where you can tell us what went wrong in one tap. It is anonymous, and it genuinely decides what we fix next.

Version 1.4

1.4.0

  • NewSettings now has a Help & Feedback box at the bottom. Send us a question or an idea without leaving the extension — we reply to the email on your account, so you do not have to type it again.

Version 1.3

1.3.0

  • NewLong product names can now wrap onto several lines instead of running off the label. Set how wide a field gets and how many lines it may use in Field Mappings.

Version 1.2

1.2.2

  • FixedSigning up with an email address that already has an account now tells you so, instead of showing a generic error.

1.2.1

  • ImprovedEnglish is now a single language option. Anyone who had UK English selected is moved onto English automatically.

1.2.0

  • NewGerman is now available in the language menu. The whole extension interface is translated.

Version 1.1

1.1.16

  • ImprovedThe sign-up screen now tells Lightspeed Retail users exactly what LabelLight does for them, replacing the previous generic heading.

1.1.15

  • ImprovedInstalling LabelLight from the Chrome Web Store now opens the settings page straight away, so you can sign up without hunting for the extension icon.

1.1.14

  • ImprovedMaintenance and stability improvements.

1.1.13

  • ImprovedMaintenance and stability improvements.

1.1.12

  • ImprovedLabelLight now publishes a full release history, so you can see exactly what changed in each version.

1.1.11

  • ImprovedAn expired or revoked Personal Token now tells you exactly that, with an Update Token button that opens your store's personal tokens page. Previously it appeared as a generic API error.
  • FixedUploading a .dymo label template was rejected even though the page listed it as a supported format.
  • FixedSeveral error messages showed an internal reference instead of readable text. Missing translations were added for all four languages.

1.1.10

  • FixedEvery sign-in problem reported the same generic message. You now get the actual reason — incorrect email or password, an unverified email address, and so on.

1.1.9

  • FixedLabel template checks could be skipped for empty or malformed files, so a broken template failed later and less clearly.

1.1.8

  • ImprovedWhen printing is unavailable, the reason given is now always one you can act on — either you are not signed in, or there is no active subscription.

1.1.7

  • NewClear Local Data in settings removes your sign-in tokens, cached profile, subscription status, print data and Personal Token from this device. Your label templates and field mappings are kept.
  • FixedA leftover grey overlay could cover the page after the printing window was reopened.

1.1.6

  • ImprovedEvery network request now gives up after a set time rather than waiting forever, so an unresponsive DYMO Connect or a slow Lightspeed connection no longer leaves the printing window hanging.
  • FixedField names could be read incorrectly from label templates that use linked objects.
  • SecurityThe extension now asks for fewer browser permissions.

1.1.5

  • SecurityThe printing window now only accepts instructions from LabelLight itself. Other content embedded in a Lightspeed page can no longer close it, resize it, or redirect your tab.

1.1.4

  • ImprovedError messages keep their wording and translation everywhere they appear. Some previously fell back to generic English text.
  • ImprovedBrowser alert boxes have been replaced with in-page notifications and dialogs that no longer block the page.
  • FixedAn invalid or expired verification code now says so instead of showing a generic error.

1.1.3

  • SecurityPages on your Lightspeed store can no longer ask the extension for your account tokens or billing details.
  • ImprovedA large consignment no longer sends hundreds of simultaneous requests to Lightspeed, which could cause it to rate-limit you.

1.1.2

  • SecuritySign-in is hardened against interception and cross-site request forgery.
  • FixedSign-in failed for some accounts because of how the session was decoded.
  • FixedAn expired session could stay active longer than it should have.
  • ImprovedSign-in requests now time out instead of hanging indefinitely.

1.1.1

  • NewA Debug Logging setting turns detailed logging on when our support team asks for it.

1.1.0

  • ImprovedMaintenance and stability improvements.

Version 1.0

1.0.19

  • NewYou can create a LabelLight account from inside the extension, without visiting the website first.

1.0.18

  • FixedLabel printing on consignments stopped working after Lightspeed updated their interface — the Print labels button did nothing. LabelLight now hooks into the new screen, including the purchase order page and its Actions menu.

1.0.16

  • FixedA missing translation could show an internal reference instead of a message when the printer service was unavailable.

1.0.15

  • FixedThe Label Templates page listed a file type that does not exist. It now correctly accepts .dymo and .label files.

1.0.14

  • ImprovedWording now consistently refers to DYMO Connect throughout the interface and documentation.

1.0.13

  • ImprovedRedesigned the settings page header and clarified the DYMO Connect wording around printer setup.

1.0.12

  • ImprovedThe extension is noticeably faster. Product data, settings and subscription status are cached rather than re-fetched on every action.
  • ImprovedError messages are consistent wherever they appear, instead of differing between the printing window and settings.
  • ImprovedNew extension icons.

1.0.11

  • NewA warning notification appears on the page when your subscription or sign-in needs attention, with a link to fix it. Printing previously just failed without explanation.

1.0.10

  • NewAn account section in settings showing your profile and subscription status, with a redesigned sign-in dialog.

1.0.9

  • NewSort the product table by any column, using the mouse or the keyboard. The product name column links straight to the product in Lightspeed.
  • NewIf loading product data fails, you can fix the cause and retry without closing and reopening the printing window.
  • ImprovedBroken label templates now explain what is wrong with them instead of failing silently.
  • ImprovedRenamed “API token” to Personal Token, matching the name Lightspeed uses.

1.0.8

  • FixedYour signed-in state could go stale, leaving the extension acting on an out-of-date session.

1.0.7

  • ImprovedSigning in is faster and more reliable.
  • ImprovedThe sign-out confirmation now uses LabelLight's own dialog rather than the browser's.

1.0.6

  • NewPick your label template from a selector in the printing window, with the preview updating live as you change currency, rounding or field mappings.
  • NewExample product import files for seven store types — art supplies, beauty, clothing, coffee and tea, fitness, jewellery and tech.
  • ImprovedSigning out of Google now properly revokes access and lets you choose a different account next time.
  • ImprovedThe extension was renamed to Label Light.

1.0.5

  • NewSign in and sign up with Google or with an email address and password.
  • NewYour language choice follows your account, applying instantly across every extension screen and on every device you sign in on.

1.0.4

  • ImprovedMaintenance and stability improvements.

1.0.3

  • NewPartially received consignments now ask whether to print labels for the received quantities or the ordered quantities, instead of guessing.

1.0.2

  • NewThe extension is fully translated, with English (UK and US), Spanish and French.
  • NewA General Settings section gathers language, printer, currency and a workaround for DYMO's printer detection into one place.
  • NewA progress overlay shows how printing is going, and whether it succeeded.
  • NewPrices can be shown without a currency symbol, and are formatted to your settings.
  • ImprovedThe printing window opens immediately and loads product data in the background, rather than making you wait on a blank screen.
  • ImprovedProduct data is read from Lightspeed's own export where possible, which is faster and more complete.
  • FixedConsignment lines could go missing — duplicate product codes were merged into one row, and items received but never ordered disappeared entirely. Every line is now listed, with Ordered and Received columns shown as appropriate.
